On the 18th July 1918, The Great Man was born into the scene.
His friends call him Rolli, His Teacher did not.
And from then on Nelson was the name that he got.
He stuck in at school and worked real hard,
Had some of the best times,that he';s ever had...
But Jah, Don't Be Sad...
He studied at college and university,
And graduated proud with his Law Degree,
Our Nelson Mandela!

In the darkest times, Of living in Apartheid,
Your words so strong, But no-one could hear.
Oppressive Society, Ruling With Fear.
When Leader of the A.N.C. you planned attacks on "The Society"
Though your instructions were not to spill any tears,
Nobody listened, Jailed For 27 Years!

From the first day you spent, When they'd locked you away,
Everybody was asking, What were you trying to say?
And for once, they were listening, The spotlight shine on,
And International Pressure was Rolling Along.
But Jah, It was taking too long...
There were Riots and Murder, Your Name used in Vain,
But this time the whole world was feeling your pain...
Our Nelson Mandela!

In the darkest times, Of living with Apartheid,
Your freedom still far, But the world now aware...
That your treatment is harsh and your sentence unfair!
In these wallsconfined, But with your strength of mind,
You refused to be turned, Said that you were prepared...
To Die Behind Bars For The Ideals You Swear!

11/02/1990, The day of your emancipation,
Saw Mass Celebration accross The Whole Of The Nation.
Your People Rejoiced when Equality Passed,
You won the Nobel Prize for Peace At Last!
A Nation's Pride..."THE PASSION OF ONE"
So sleep well, Time to rest Rolli, Your work is done.
Another man will rarely be found,
As Grand and Brave, With his feet on the ground....
As Our Nelson Mandela!

Now in brighter times, Years since the Apartheid,
Your words still echo, Your wisdom lives through,
A loving Society, REUNITED BY YOU!
Though you cant be here, We all feel you near,
Shaping the Nation, Carving in stone,
My Birthplace...My Country...My People...My Home!!!
